D. Strome or Laine?

This can go 50/50 for me either way. I think both have the same amount of chances to "hit" it big. Who gets more goals? Who knows.

I think when it's this close you go with the player you REALLY want to own, this way you aren't backtracking later trying to trade for the player and all that mess.

Take the guy you want and don't look back.

I'd really like to get my hands on Laine (Jets fan) and am considering offering Strome for the 2nd overall entry draft pick. League is points-based with more points for goals.

Who would you take? (I can afford to wait a bit, so Strome's likely earlier arrival is not a factor).

Strome is going to be a great player, but the notch on him last year when it was him vs Marner was that Marner would be a better ''fantasy'' player. I think the same debate can be had for him and Laine this year and once again, I would say that Strome is going to be the better player but that Laine should be better fantasy-wise.

Laine is completely overrated. not saying he won't be good but he's pretty much the next ovechkin in any article you read about him. strome is the underrated one, best player in last year's draft apart from the two generational talents, yet he sucks because his team didn't do well in the playoffs (that seems like a better ovechkin comparison to me )

I don't think it had anything to do with his "team" not achieving this year in the playoffs...Strome gets flustered very easy when things do not go his way and at the next level things will not go his way especially with his lack of foot speed. When you get shut down and out scored by the likes of Owen Macdonald (who?) that would send out some red flags IMO anyways...all be it not a single NHL team has ever asked for my services so it is what it is just my opinion.

Hype or not, I would love to land Laine. Kid oozes skill and hockey sense. Wrap it up with a strong work ethic, and you have the second Finnish Flash in Winnipeg. Reminds me of the year of Taylor or Tyler. You can't lose, except I think Matthews and Laine will end up better fantasy options. Time will tell.
