Default Colin White returning to BC for 2016-17

Ottawa prospect Colin White has opted to play with Boston College in 2016-17.

The Sens' second pick of the first round in 2015 (21st overall) is a highly skilled player but needs more time to develop. The Ottawa brass is actually pleased that White will be returning to play for his college squad. Look for him to have a fantasy impact in 2017-`18

I like this move too. One more year with BC will be good for him.

He should put up strong numbers but not an apt comparable as Connor made his nut as a frosh this year. White was the third best freshman in the NCAA in '15-16 behind Connor and Boeser. Nothing wrong with that!

I like him a lot. I see a very capable 2nd line centre with extra special shutdown abilities and a capable offensive game. He doesn't have the same snarl, but think of a Kesler-type career.

it wasn't a statement of freshman performance comparisons it was a statement of a similar U.S. born skater with speed and smarts and who will be the talked about player next spring when he decides to leave BC for the NHL....

I believe one of Connor, White and Boesser will be good. The other two will be decent to ok.

I still don't respect the NCAA as much as I should though.

He's likely better off playing bigger minutes with BC than sheltered in Binghamton. Then again, I think he likely would have benefitted from playing a tougher schedule (ie more games) at the AHL level. All in all, if he wasn't projected to make the Sens, this is the better move to stay at BC.
