Kucherov + Ghost for Benn + Hornqvist

I've hounded you all before in my attempts to get Benn off a rival... Here is the latest offer I've received.

Benn/Hornqvist for Kucherov/Gostisbehere

Its a lot to give up, but I am loaded on the back end. So while losing Ghost definitely stings, I've got two 50 point guys in Byfuglien and Giordano and the elite production from Letang (when healthy) and EK.

Horny has been reinvigorated with the rest of the Penguins under Sullivan and produced at a 68 point pace in the last half of the season and has continued rolling in the playoffs. That Penguins top PP is deadly, so having a couple pieces of it (Kessel too) is tempting.

I'm well aware of what Kucherov can do.. to me, he's got that 80 point juice that is so rare these days, but its hard to do it year after year like Benn does.

Is this worth it for me??

How many F/D do you start each week? And what kind of D will be available for redraft?

At first glance it does seem a lot to give for such a deep keeper league, but I guess it boils down to what you think Kucherov can achieve vs Benn and the replacement you'll get for Ghost .

I'd be happy with that, your D is absolutely stacked and you get a nice sell high on Ghost here. I really like Kucherov but Benn is the prize here

If you want Benn this is a decent deal to get it done. You can easily afford the loss of Ghost from your stacked D corps. You can move one of your extra forwards to get a replacement.

The question you have to decide is do you prefer Benn or Kucherov? Benn is basically the best player in fantasy hockey the past 2 seasons. If that sort of productivity is what you are looking for, this deal is pretty good from a cost standpoint.

As a Jamie Benn owner - I would do it, he is coming into his prime and Dallas scores goals. You have a solid D so losing Ghost is no big loss ( just have to find the next one)

We start 8 forwards, 4 dmen and 2 goalies each week. While I'm not super high on Hornqvist it does offer me a decent starting forward as I've got Connor ..and to a lesser extent Ehlers, who are going to be questionable starts some weeks this year. Connor maybe not at all.

Tough to say what type of D will be available in the draft until keepers are set.. but if I had to guess the quality will be in the Erik Johnson, Ryan Murray, Mike Green arena.. I've got my eye on Provorov, Werenski or another young defender though.

Dallas sure does like to score goals.. and man does Jamie Benn produce a ton. Gotta think thats only going to increase as Seguin continues to develop and hopefully stays healthy. Bonus point is that I usually get to sit down and have a beer or two with Jamie in the summer when he comes back to Victoria. Sweet player and an even sweeter dude.

I like to think of myself as a real grinder in the scouting world, always pouring over info trying to find the next hot commodity at each spot. These forums are good for finding those gems too.

If you want really(!) want Benn, and have "hounded you all before in my attempts to get Benn off a rival" and you have a fair offer on the table then you take it. It may be days, moths, years before this opportunity presents itself again.

I would trade Kucherov and Gostistbehere for Benn, he's a top 5 player and that's the price you have to pay. Getting Hornqvist on top makes it even a better deal.

I'm a fan of getting the best player in a trade and Benn does that for you. You upgrade up front and still hold a very strong D core.
