    Default Oscar Klefbom Projection

Assuming Edmonton doesn't trade for a top Dman, what can we expect from Klefbom next season?

will he play PP1? can he get 40 points. I know his H.E.R.O chart is pretty elite looking? 100gm sample though.

If they don't trade for a D1, then I would look at M. Reilly as a decent example from the past season. Solid young D, still learning on a bad team. 36 points is a nice ballpark figure for what to be projecting him at, while Edm's offence is a step above the Leafs, so bumping it to 40 is realistic.

Treat Klefbom like a 25-30 guy, anything more is gravy. The oilers will do their very best to upgrade which will hurt Klefbom in the end fantady wise.

I sure hear alot about this kid, so this thread is highly intriguing for me.. 107 NHL games and 35 points doesn't really tell me much.. He is only 22 though and has room to grow, I'm just going to temper my expectations on this kid for now..

I do however look forward to hearing what others have to say about this youngster.. Alot of people seem to have high hopes for him.. But how much of that is because he plays for the Edmonton Oilers?? What would people think if he played for the Vancouver Canucks??

I just know that I am in a 13 team keeper league where everyone keeps 24 players, year after year, and this kid has never even been drafted in our league.. Seems weird to me, but its true..

Oilers are looking for solid play first, offense second. As such, I don't see a path toward 40 points. If you want a comparable, think early career Marc-Edouard Vlasic.

If he's healthy I'd look at 30 points probably. 40 would be best case scenario IMO.

If nothing changes, which would be extremely disappointing for the oilers, then maybe he hits 30 points.

Ideally, he'd be the #4 dman on a decent/good team with potential. Asking for more is a lot from a young dman like him even with his extension.

Make that a specific ballpark figure, sounds like someone needs to make a trip to Vegas, EskimoBrother! I agree with your estimation though, If Edmonton was in a better spot as a whole, I would've bet on the kid last year, unfortunately that's not the case. I think he's just as well off in the big picture if EDM does acquire another top defender that he could watch a little closer to learn from. He wouldn't even need to be on his pairing, but I think it would be best for him in the long run.

Vegas trips are always welcome. You chipping for gas to get me there?

I agree with your points though. I would really love to see B. Campbell end up there to guide Nurse/Klefbom the same way he has done with Ekblad the last two years.

I'd agree with pmorrow here that 30 points is his likely output IF he stays healthy...big if. I would be very surprised to see him knock at 40's door.

No. Ellis is having his upside limited by Weber/Josi. He has way more potential should his situation finally improve.
