Default Connor Carrick has big night

Five points last night for the Marlies. He needs to work on his D zone but I like his chances of making the Leafs in the fall.

Connor Carrick collected three goals and two assists in the Toronto Marlies comeback win over Bridgeport in the AHL playoffs on Thursday night.
Toronto's AHL affiliate rallied from a 4-1 deficit to sweep the Islanders' farm club and advance to the second round of the postseason. Carrick, who appeared in 16 games with the Maple Leafs this year after he was acquired from Washington, will look to stick with the big team on a full-time basis next campaign.

The fact he’s a RH D-man on a team coached by Babcock makes him a strong candidate to make the team next yr. He was an absolute steal from the caps. He’s a 3/4D with some PP time next yr.

He’s an NHLer, not an AHLer that Brennan seems to be.

I agree he should be in the NHL, but there will be a learning curve under Babcock, and I could see him being treated similar to how Reilly was at the beginning of the season.
