the oilers would be better off using 8M on defensemen that specialize in playing defense. why on earth a team loaded with offense would spend that much cap on an offensive defenseman is beyond me. itll be another lottery finish if yandle is expected to be the answer to their defense issues.

You don't have to play defense if your team is going the other way with the puck. It's 2016, haven't we figured this out yet? Defensive defensemen are defensive because they are bad. They are guys like Ference who the Oilers already have. The Oilers couldn't move the puck up to their forwards to save their lives. Puck-moving defenseman is their single biggest need.

seems to have worked well for the sens who have the best puck moving D in the league...nope, gave up just as many goals as the oilers.

They did just fine when he was on the ice. Best defenseman in the game. Hockey is a team game though.
