Default Breakout forwards for next year?

Who are some forwards who are hovering at around 40-50 points or less that could get around 65 next year?

Some that stand out to me:

    Drouin
    Lindholm
    Hertl
    Ehlers
    Strome

I like Drouin to top that list.

I assume you're talking about Ryan Strome (given the 40 is this year bump up to 50/60) Then yes I agree. I can see him return to this level of productivity.

Lindholm I think will be lucky to hit 50
Hertl can't stay healthy enough, long enough to strive for 60
Ehlers may be the next best behind Drouin and Strome, but I'm not holding my breath for this Jet or any jet for that matter.

Fabbri is my dark horse for 50 next year 25/25 split give or take.

    R. Strome or D. Strome. Either one would be a decent bet.
    K. Connor is a forum favourite and has a very good chance.
    S. Aho, O. Bjorkstrand, D. Jaskin, H. Fashing and M. Rantanen are a couple other guys looking for their first real shots.

    I am really liking Fabbri.
    Ehlers has monstrous upside.
Drouin and Teuvo might be buy-lows.

I think Burakovsky is ready for a pretty good jump in points, perhaps around 55. I believe Kucherov will go from star to superstar - top 5 in scoring.

Agree with this, I think Kucherov can put up Tarasenko-like numbers.

Here's my watch list for next year:

    Coyle
    Ehlers
    Wennberg
    Athanasiou
    Trochek

Is yakupov ever going to turn the corner? Or will it bein the KHL?

I was calling Fabbri from the last 2 weeks on. Especially if Backes walks.

Nylander would be a good one. Led the Leafs in points since he joined I’m pretty sure. 13pts/22games, only 16minutes/game. But I’m thinking 40-50pts is where he’s at, maybe 45-55pts if Stamkos is his center.

He was definitely looking really food in all the games I watched. Easy peg for at least 40 I say, and I think he could hit 55 next season without Stammer.

Mikael Granlund. He's getting the opportunity. He'll put it together one of these years.

Brandon Gallagher has yet to hit 50 points in a season. I'd put him on the list.

Zibanajed could be due as well.

Marko Dano would be my dark horse pick. He needs a lot of things to go just right though.

The super break-out candidate is going to be winging to a dynamic linemate.
Two years ago it was Voracek alongside Giroux.
This past year it was Panarin riding with Pat Kane.
The guy that could fit this slot might be Ryan Strome, IF... he gets Tavares time.

Another break-out situation is the player that ends up on an island where the supporting cast is so bad he's a lock for huge minutes.
This year that guy was Kyle Palmieri.
Elias Lindholm is the guy that I can see that for next year.

Hertl could go 55+ IF he stays with Joe&Joe for a full year.

As for some veterans that could surprise:
Each of his last few years, Bryan Little has hinted he can do 60+pts... but the injuries keep him.
One of these years he'll play 80+ and score 60-65 pts.
Winnipeg is going to put together a really good PP one of these years.

Jordan Staal has a career high of 50pts... but he'll only be turning 28 years old.
Carolina is so starved for offense that he may get 20+ min/game.
He got 10 PPP this year for just the 2nd time in his career.
It's not impossible for him to couple 40 ESP with 20 PPP and bust out for a never-before 60pt year.
    He had 33pts in 44 games in calendar year 2016. That's a 61pt pace.

    McDavid

...But seriously, perhaps a full year of McDavid and a more focused, Yakupov-free Oilers top 6 could push Draisaitl up and into the 60s

If 60-65pts is your threshold for a breakout, I think Atkinson is a way-under-the-radar candidate to push 60 (besides the players already mentioned).
