I heard yesterday that they have been using Jesus Montero at 1B in the minors, trying to get him accustomed to the position. He's been hitting well down there and is probably going to get a look at some point.Originally Posted by LawMan

From what I heard on the news just now it was a known body building supplement that's banned across all pro sports. Tough to defend yourself against that. How would something like that accidentally get into your system? It also really explains why he's been playing like crap to start the year.
Really sucks...I like Colabello. Seems like a good guy.

Really unfortunate that athletes still think it is worth doing. Hopefully he can come clean after the suspension and get back to performing as he was.
First base is, fortunately for the Jays, their deepest major league position, with EE and Smoak able to handle the bag. This should allow Smoak to get some regular at bats, and get his timing set for the season. It will be a bit of a juggling act for the Jays, as it is even affecting their pitching staff, with compensatory moves having been made today.
Also on the Jesus Montero point, you also wonder if the Jays didn't hear about it earlier, and that prompted the Michael Bourn signing as another MLB bat.

Well he said he got a phone call March 14 so he must have told the team at that point. That could also explain his bad play because you have to imagine that has a brutal effect on a person's psyche.

the drug passes through you in 5-7 days, and he was caught on the drug test everyone takes at spring training. so either he's stupid as crap, or he didn't know he took it. Part of me actually thinks he didn't do it, or mean to do it.
