    Default Keep 2 D?

In a 12 team keep 7 H2H league, is keeping 2 defenseman a waste of a keeper spot? Assuming the 2 are top 10-15 defensemen.

If they are the best players to be kept, then they are the right ones to keep. You don't pass on keeping Karlsson, Subban and Letang if they are your best players just to balance out your roster.
If you want to post your team however, then we can probably help you out to a greater degree.

The question is simply too vague.

Why not offer up your roster and who you are considering keeping and then you will get a more accurate response to the question you truly want answered.

    Good suggestion, keepers to consider:

    Seguin
    Benn
    Hall
    Kucherov
    Kopitar
    Stone

    Klingberg
    OEL
    Weber

    Lundqvist
    Hellebuyck

    Initial thoughts would be
    Seguin
    Benn
    Hall
    Kucherov

    Klingberg
    OEL

    Hank

But based on league/roster size & categories that may change. If you could post those as well that would be great.

Man, I'm really effin up the info here. I appreciate your input, though, guys.

    12 teams, roster of 21.
CATS: G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, SOG, FOW.
    W, GAA, SV%, SO.

My thoughts are similar to yours, Eskimo Brother. Except, with FOW playing a part Kopitar has increased value.

    Thanks!

No worries! It's just that the more info provided, the better we can help you out. I agree that Kopi is very close there. Tough choice between him, Hall and Klingberg. Your best option is to see if you can trade one or two to consolidate some keeper talent. If that's not possible, then I may be tempted to cut Hall, based mainly on the injury risk.

Yeah, I'm looking at trade options. You said you're between Kopitar, Klingberg, and Hall. Does that mean you think OEL over Klingberg?

I think they have close to the same points ceiling, however OEL just produces more over the range of your categories. As Ari grows as a team, his numbers (especially +/-) are only going to be better. Plus he is a little more proven.

    Questions first?

How many goalies do you play? 1-2 per night?
I only ask because 33% of your scoring is in Goalies, would you want to trade some fringe/excess keepers for a goalie, i'm not sure because I do not know your roster size/etc.

Yes I would take OEL over Klingberg. I have both, but traded for OEL as a replacement over Klingberg if I wanted to move him in a deal in the offseason. I am (at this point) keeping Klingberg and OEL.
I have some high expectations for OEL and ARZ next year.
There is some good young talent growing there (not just Domi and Duclair) and there is a new GM who will be expected to make some changes in his first year. There are several veteran players that can be signed for cheap to help add some points to this group. I expect we could see a NJ type situation where some veteran players sign 1 year $1M deals that allow the team show some improvements and balance out the young guys growing into their roles. Finishing in last is not on any new GM's to-do list!
ARZ improved last season and the new ownership group wants to make the playoffs.

OEL over Klingberg yes, Seguin, Benn, Lundy are locks as well.

That leaves you with 3 out of:

    Hall, Kucherov, Kopitar, Klingberg, Stone.

I go with Hall, Kucherov, Kopitar there.

I go with Hall, Kucherov, Kopitar there.
I agree with this. Kopitar because he wins 800 + face offs gives him the edge.
