Would a smoothie with Baileys be any good? anyone tried smoothies with a tad of alcohol in them? thinking chocolate ice cream, baileys liquor, shot of heavy cream - whipped cream on top....

Around Xmas, I blended some plain yogurt, egg nog, cinnamon and a half banana - was quite good .....nog makes for a nice flavor in a smoothie if you haven't tried it........have a 1L of nog frozen in freezer for the summer months...

stay away from my ideas if you are calorie conscience lol

A while back I made a bunch of fruit-based alcoholic drinks. Never tried the Baileys idea although I can't imagine it being a bad one.

My advice, eat your calories and don't drink them. That's the rule I follow while making the acception with beer, wine and liquor.

Nice GIF Eric! But what are you calling a train wreck here? Me or some threads in "the lounge"?

Definitely the threads... particularly during the last lock-out. So many trains gave their lives over those months.

To bring this thread back on topic, many of those trains were fed to a blender and turned into smoothies.

Hockey players then drank those train blended smoothies in an attempt to win in the playoffs (anything for hockey).

That video is beyond awesome but I the final result hardly looks like a smoothie. In fact, that would go down quite rough...

I used to love 'will it blend' back in the day...

Never underestimate the value of the right tool in the kitchen, it makes cooking/preparing food more enjoyable.

As an aside, I had originally thought the smoothies thread may have been extolling the virtues the full Brazilian.

Well considering this thread is about smoothies, it's important to point out that these premium blenders really do give you a top notch smoothie comparable to those from juice bars/restaurants. I use a KitchenAid blender that's nowhere close to the power of a Blendtec or a Vitamix but if I drank more smoothies, I would definitely invest in one of the premium ones.

I guess it also depends on the ingredients one uses for smoothies though. Thick leafy greens, whole nuts and frozen fruits tend to have a nice smooth blend in those blenders but if you stick to bananas, powders and other smooth ingredients, I'm pretty confident any blender will do.
