I mentioned back in March that they were courting him so this doesn't surprise me.

This really isn't surprising because Hiller's stay in the NHL has pretty much run its course. I doubt he would have found work this summer.

Best place to go if you're leaving the NHL. He's Swiss as well, so this just makes too much sense.

    What is this Biel?
    Is this a nice place?
Is it one of those places where people would vacation?
But not one of those places with naked beaches I hope.
I'm going to go google "Biel naked" just so I'm in the know...

I bet Hiller was fooled on this as well.

As for Biel: be assured that it's a very nice little town (50'000 people) picturesquely seated right on the shore of a lake and at the foot of the Jura mountain range. It's currently not the most prosperous region (still famous for high end watches, wine, food and rich culture though).

It's just a small hockey market, small arena, even for Swiss measures. But it's a well embeded, traditional hockey culture with loyal fans in what must be a very family-like athmosphere. It's actually the squad that Reto Berra played for before he crossed the Atlantic. He kept Biel in our top league almost singlehandedly for a couple of seasons (worst teams get relegated here)...

So all in all it's exactly the perfect cosy place to spend the later years of a professional hockey career if you ask me.... So I give Hiller full marks on this decision

And no, I'm not a local from Biel, but I've visited the place a couple of times. So there are beaches on the lake shore, but if there are nudes, I must have missed them...

It's not suprising seeing as Calgary clearly stated that Hiller was no longer in their plans...

Not surprised to see Hiller leave the NHL for a league where he may become relevant again. Clarifies the Flames goalie situation a bit I guess, but I never really believed he would be back anyways.

I wish the worst NHL team each year would get relegated

Call me pedantic if you must, but you got more than just a letter wrong or something, it was next to incomprehensible. So if using google translator is too much effort, maybe better skip the foreign languages, no?

And I wouldn't use the word "nazi" too liberally. Nothing good comes from it, it's tasteless and it makes you look more ignorant than you probably are. Especially since neither Hiller nor me is German, so your little intended potshot is pretty much a barrel burst here.
