It seems like they've all taken decent steps this year and have a chance of maybe surprising a bit next year.

I agree with Ekholm as the number one on this list. Number two I would debate Severson vs. Miller. Severson seems to have the biggest upside left on this list, but is dragged down by the fact he's in NJ, and that NJ seems unwilling to commit to a PP1 defenceman. As such, I might go with Miller next year, but Severson past that.
Larsson and Slavin are the next tier, as neither is the guy on their team. Slavin has a lot more road blocks, so currently I would take Larsson. However if one gets traded to somewhere that they aren't stuck behind many other guys, then they get a boost ahead of the other one, though probably still not ahead of Miller/Severson.

What are your thoughts on Slavin's "Roadblocks" simply CAR's depth on the back end?
I've only recently held Slavin a little higher in my own regard since seeing his name on a "in the shadows" or something like that - category for this year's calder. Obviously not going to happen, but the fact that his name was on the list interested me.
Regardless, these would be my rankings -
Miller
Ekholm
Severson
Slavin
Larsson
Miller and Ekholm are extremely close IMO. If Boston does some work in the offseason, I like his chances based on their P/60's. NSH is basically set on D, so Ekholm will probably sit where he is.
Having trouble inserting the Warrior charts, but take a look if you're interested.

Faulk and Hanifin are the easy 1-2 here. After that, there is simply just so much more internal competition over the next few years than there is in Jersey. Pesce, Fleury, Wisniewksi, Murphy, Jordan, McKeown, Biega in no particular order, could all give him a run over the next couple of seasons.
