I think a lot hinges on what happens with Michael Hutchinson, who is an RFA. Maybe buying out Pavelec is another possibility? I'd estimate that Connor starts between 25-35 games next season, but that estimate could change depending on what happens with the other two goalies. But I'd like to see what someone who follows the Jets closely has to say about how the goaltending situation plays out.

If he's available in a keeper league draft in the fall (points only), where do you rank him among the likes of other skaters - Trochek, Vesey, Parayko, Haula, Kempe, where would you consider picking him? Already have some youth in net, (Varlamov & Mrazek) but a 3rd might not be a bad idea.

I think Hutchinson will be moved out and Hellebuyck and Pavalec are left to duke it out for the starting load. I could see anywhere from 25-45 games started depending on how everything shakes out.
By 2017-18, he'll be the unquestioned starter.

Keep on, keepin' on.
Next year I see him between 20-30 stats, depending on how healthy and how well Pavelec plays. He might be sneaky good and steal the starting position if Pavelec starts slow or does not have a good year. I too believe he will be the number 1 in 17-18.

I would only consider Parayko and Trochek ahead of him in value for next year. I think he is a great addition to Varly/Mrazek if you can pull him out at the right spot in the draft.
I think he will be up full time next year with one of Pavelec or Hutch (though more likely Pavelec) and his play will dictate if he either splits time or if he just runs away with 50+ starts.

So 14 think he will start 30 games or more...and 4 less than 30.
I'm surprised but happy with that answer!

if they part ways with Hutch then Hellebuyck would likely play at least 50% of the games .
Who is a better own...Hellebuyck or Matt Murray??

Short term I'd say Hellebucyk as Murray requires Fleury to be phased out the system or more injuries to have increased workload. The Pens aren't going to pay Fleury $5.75M to sit on the bench. Heading into the season, I would say that these were the 2 best goaltenders not in the NHL (prospect wise and counting Gibson & Vas as NHLers).
Short term = Hellebucyk
Long term = Murray...though only very slightly
