Can't believe I forgot about this one. The video is rather risqué so you may not want to open this at work, but the song, originally done by Bob Seger was meant to be sung with Metallica's brand of anger.

Rylant, completely agree on "Billie Jean"! Absolutely amazing cover and so different from the original. When David Cook's version came out on American Idol, people went nuts but many did not know that it was completely inspired by Chris Cornell.
My other choices just quickly thinking about it would be "Simple Man" covered by Shinedown (originally by Lynyrd Skynyrd). This version is more somber and the power of the voice is insane.
The other one is "Ain't no sunshine" by Jose Feliciano (originally by Bill Withers). Great voice and amazing guitar playing. BTW, he also does a great version of "Billie Jean"!
