Playoff Fantasy, Points Only. Choose Top 10 skaters....

    1)Ovechkin
    2)Backstrom
    3)Kuznetsov
    4)Crosby
    5)Benn
    6)Barkov
    7)Getzlaf
    8)Kopitar
    9)Kane
    10)Toews or Panarin?

Tough not to pick the captain, but give me Panarin over Toews' defensive responsibilities.

Toews for sure. The playoffs are where rookies go to be non existent.

    Panarin.
    But why Barkov?

IMO... to win a playoff pool, you basically have to choose the two Cup teams.
Pretty much every year, if you go back and look at the top 10... at least 8 are from the two CUP teams.

So I don't see why one would want a little dusting of Jamie Benn or Sidney Crosby in there AND Barkov AND Getzlaf AND Kopitar.
    Nah... too many teams.

Somebody else who goes ALL WAS and ALL CHI is going to beat that team.

I hear ya. I was trying to hedge bets versus going all in on two teams and risking everything. That being said, I can only have a max of 3 players (excl. G) per team.

So I took Washington's big 3 and 2 of Chicago's 3. The others are from teams I feel will advance to the second round and perhaps beyond.

    Is this a bad approach?

With a max of three players per team, I still wouldn't be selecting from more than 4 teams.
If your teams are Wsh and Chi, then you should have 3 from them, and then two each from the teams that they are up against in the semi-finals.

Picking Crosby ahead of one of those last four would also be understandable

    ^Yes.
You've essentially got to pick the 4 semi-finals teams and go with them.
Except for Crosby. A two-round Crosby could outscore most 3-round players.

I got Panarin over Toews in all my (all points) pools.

I'd go Toews over Panarin in a playoff pool. It's close though.
