gillis is the main reason the canucks are such an embarrassment. they went from having two elite goalies to none.
benning is terrible and has done more harm than good so i suppose that falls on linden.

At the time, no one was thinking Luongo was "elite"... More like washed up. Schneider wouldn't sign because he wanted to be the #1 guy, and they couldn't do that with Luongo. I think it worked out.. Horvat is going to be a really good player. Plus they have Markstrom, both Gillis guys.
Dont get me wrong... Gillis is a complete dick. But he won. There was another side to this goalie controversy, as hilarious as it was.
That being said, Benning was supposed to be a big scout and he scooped Demko in the 2nd. Things could be looking up. He just acts and speaks like he is a complete imbecile. He is also a brutal negotiator.

Really? The kid just put up 1.43 ppg as a freshman and you think he'll stay in college for another three years? Highly, highly doubtful.
I'd be willing to bet a boatload on him coming out of school next year and never coming close to a senior year at UND.
