Maine Moose 2021-2022
2019 WHL GM of the Year #Supersoft
I like both kids but to know, or even guess, what one will be the more productive NHL player is simply just a guess at this time. It's just too early to say. Both have tremendous upside.

I would say Werenski as well, but it is a bit of a coin flip.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Yep a coin flip, the gut takes Werenski. I'd go with with whoever has the higher perceived value in your league.
I like Werenski more but Hanifin might be easier to obtain

Player comparables for both?

I think Hanifin offense is underrated. Werenski may have an edge on the upside by what 5pts? It's close but right now, I'd go with Hanifin.
Points only keeper league
7 teams
28 keepers
Weekly line up: 12 F / 6 D / 2 G
Goalie stats: W=2 / SO=2
Year 1 goes to Werenski but there is zero chance I count out Hanifin.
I agree with BogisianLandeskog but also Faulk muddies the water for Hanifin's upside whilst Werenski is more likely to man the top pp with his main rival Jones than lose time directly
Experience is the teacher of all things.
Again, way too early in their careers. I am not saying Werenski isn't a solid young Dman (quite the opposite actually) but I am not giving up on Hanifin at this point after 77 games. He may never be as good, offensively, as Werenski but I am not going to say that at this point in their careers.

I imagine that Werenski would be the near-universal choice for everyone today if they were both available on waivers in any given league. Someday that may change, but right now it isn't close in terms of their fantasy value.
i think werenski's fantasy value was always higher. hanifin will be a much better real life dman than fantasy dman, while werenski's game is made to be one of the top dmen in fantasy. although i'm counting on a major breakout for hanifin next year.
