Default Minnesota - Long Term Goalie Outlook

Interested in people's thoughts on Minnesota's goalie situation long term.
I know Dubnyk is signed for 5 more years at over 4mil/yr and has been the go-to #1. But Kuemper hasn't been all that bad, and depending on how the playoffs go, I can see just about anything happening going into next year.

I would think the coaching change / potential future change from the interim coach will work in Dubnyk's favour, but with the new equipment all bets are off.

    Thoughts?

I wouldn't really say Dubnyk is in much trouble of losing his job. Being man with the big salary, he'll have a long enough leash to hang onto the job. Kuemper isn't playing at a level that is high enough above Dubnyk's to warrant him stealing starts away. I would proceed with Dubnyk as the starter for the foreseeable future

Kuemper isn't that good of a goalie. It'll be Dubnyk's show in Minny for a long time.

Kuemper will no longer be on the team by the time Dubnyk's contract expires.

I'm a big Dubnyk supporter. He's had a very steady career with one absolute horrible season.

He came in and started winning for the Wild. I think the Wild have confidence in Dubnyk, he's got the bigger $ deal. I don't believe Kuemper is more than a solid 1B who can string together 3 or so starts. Kuemper may have a few 3 start runs but the team will continue to return to Dubnyk.

Excellent point. This pretty much sums it up.

Kuemper sometimes has like 2 or 3 really good games, but he can't keep that level for longer. Overall he has back-up numbers and that's just what he is. I'm not a big fan of Dubnyk and i'm staying away from him in every single league, but even i can't see the slightest little sign of a goalie controversy.

I don't know why this topic keeps coming up. Kuemper is not starter material, not likely. Dubnyk has been a little better than average this year, with lots of ups and downs. He's the man in Minny for the next 4 years, as far as I can see it.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

The entire goalie landscape may change with the new equipment. New stars may emerge and mediocre goalies will be exposed for who they really are.
Keeping goalies in leagues is going to come with an extra degree of risk, causing me to look a little deeper than I should be into several situations. I do not believe in Kuemper personally, but there is always that little voice in the back of my head wondering if Dubnyk will continue to be the real deal. (Minnesota hasn't exactly been impressive lately)

The general and almost unanimous conclusion is that he is and will continue to be though.
    Thanks

I think that Dubnyk is one of the 3 goalies at the forefront of wanting smaller equipment.

Out of curiosity, who are you naming as those 3?

I can not remember the other 2, it was on the NHL network on the radio on the way home from work. Dubnyk stuck out because he is on my team. We know it isn't Miller!

    It sure isn't, hahaha.

In this particular league, I have Bishop, Quick, and Dubnyk (12team H2h). Feeling pretty confident about the new equipment changes for those guys, but I will have to decide over the summer if I want to keep all 3 or keep an extra forward in one of their places.
In a league that values goalies, I like the freedom I have with such a solid crease.
