Dynasty league Trade offer

1st year 12 team dynasty league with plenty of stat categories:

BATTING - R, HR, RBI, BB, K, TB, FPCT, AVG, SLG, NSB

PITCHING - IP, W, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, OBPA, QS, NSV

The offer is my Trevor Story and Carlos Martinez for his Dansby Swanson, Jason Hammel and Danny Salazar

I am leaning toward rejecting it as I think Storey and MArtinez are in for big years

Tough deal. I favor Martinez over Salazar but both are quality 2-3 SP's. While I favor Swanson over Story unless you have a immediate need at SS for this year. But I full expect Rodgers will supplant Story at SS in a few seasons. While Swanson should be the Atlanta SS for the next 10 years.

I actually like the deal for you. I think Salazar is better then Martinez by a small margin and I am concerned about the injury history with Martinez as well.

Storey has all kinds of hype due to his Spring but like Cream said he gets supplanted in a few years, and even this year I feel like people are forgetting about Jose Reyes. He is gonna be back in June and they are gonna play him as he just makes too much money to bench but has too much baggage to trade. Storey has no where to go as he is not moving Arenado, obviously, and LeMathieu at best would be a platoon situation. SO I think storey goes to AAA from June on just based on numbers.

In addition, Swanson is probably set at SS and should be the superior player.

So unless you need a SS right now, I would take the deal and I think you win it.

I think Salazar is on par with CarMart. Martinez hadn’t thrown a full season last yr and tailed off a lot in the back half of the yr. Should be able to be more consistent moving forward. Salazar is a K’s master and on a stronger Cleveland team than what people give them credit for too.

So in essence those two are a wash and either could have a better yr than the other

Story for Swanson and Hammel. You’d be dropping someone to make room I’m guessing. And unless there’s a viable SS option for right now, I think you come back and say, “I need a SS in this deal instead of Hammel”.

It’s close, but I think it flexes on your “right now” SS replacement.

If you rather Salazar, I don’t think anyone would blame you for the trade. it’s pretty even.

I am not sure that I do value Salazar more then Martinez, and I need to learn more about Swanson

Profile: Despite receiving only 99 plate appearances this season after getting drafted number one overall, Swanson showed a lot of promise in Low-A Hillsboro. His swing consists of an excellent hand path built for staying in the contact zone. He has a tendency for his hips to slide forward underneath him, leaving him a bit too reliant on driving balls with strength in his front leg, which contributes to a bat arch that is a little too level for consistent power currently. Defensively he has excellent feet in the field, allowing his above-average to plus arm play up even higher on bang-bang plays. He is able to get his body moving quickly in any direction, redirecting his momentum very effectively, a true impact player on defense, at a premium position. (Dan Farnsworth)

The Quick Opinion: An Arizona official I spoke to praised Swanson for his work ethic, and asserted his potential to be a 20-homer hitter with some further development. I think he will end up a little below that level, but with plenty of doubles and all-around contributions to be a dynamite player.
