I’m dropping Nicasio for Berrios through a waiver claim, which goes through on Saturday. So if Nicasio rocks, I can switch him out, if not, Josh tomlin is the guy I’m dropping.

Nicasio needs to expand his repertoireto be effective. Fastball slider won’t win you games. Damn, should have gone with my other guy I drafted late as my big pick. Maeda is killing it.

Oh well, 2014OG 2017 sleeper is out there somewhere.

The K's are unreal though! So tempting to hang on just to see but yeah.....I dropped him.

    - - - Updated - - -

I just realized he's a FA in my 14 team league.....I should use that as an indicator to not hold onto to someone in my 10 team league lol

He gets a changeup and he turns from a RP to a very good SP. Every game he cruises until the batters time him up. Even a slow 12-6 curve would do the trick. His FB and Slider are still great pitches.

He still has solid numbers, but hey, sleeper picks are hard to judge especially when you only call 1.

Moving from the Rockies (stopping in LA) to the Pirates into a legitimate pitchers paradise with the guru of pitching showed me signs of hope he was going to use his changeup again (pretty sure he abandoned it in his 3rd yr).

Stuck my neck out on a pick that’s easy to say I’m wrong, but hey a 4.50ERA, with wins and high Ks from a guy O-Ranked in the 1000s is still pretty solid.

Under my league rules, here are my starters in order of their fantasy points:

    Richards: 48.92
    Keuchel: 46.42
    Volquez: 46.42
    Nicasio: 34.00
    Liriano: 32.83
    Matz: 28.50
    Wood: 21.00
    McHugh: 18.67

So Nicasio sits in my Top 4 let alone my Top 5. He's helping me weather some letdowns...

God damn it, I had dropped him to pick up a Dee Gordon replacement, hoping to trade an OF for Wainwright to offset it, but then Nicasio throws a gem…WHILE ON SOMEONE ELSES TEAM. Someone picked him up for that start! GD.

I did the same thing in one of my leagues, but I'm glad I kept him in for the other two. Murphy's law strikes again!
