This is actually a great analogy. I drafted him 6th overall in our inaugural keeper league draft three years ago. I remember very clearly saying "I guess I'll take Malkin" and one of the other guys going "Oh poor you" or something to that effect. He was one season removed from 50 goals and 109 points, but I also knew he was a giant hurt bag. I knew the risk involved, but I thought I'd get another one of those 100 point seasons at some point. I'm going to get what I can for him in the off-season/beginning of next season and move on. I'm done.

Also, John Tavares, Claude Giroux & Erik Karlsson were all still on the board when I drafted Malkin. Eff.

I drafted him earlier than I probably should in my playoff pool, so I hope he comes back in the next 1-3 games. I need NYR to at least win at least 2 games for added points!

I can't list my 2nd main keeper as there are too many players, but it is a keep all H2H points-only league

I still think I'm screwed though.

Well I picked him 3rd round in a 15 person pool (odd set up, but it is 1 player per team plus 4 extras), but he was literally the best available.

Recent news has both him and MAF very close for Saturday, if they don't play I would xpect at least Malkin back for game 3 (Concussions far tougher to gauge). But here are some tweets from Dave Molinari from today (most recent to least recent haha) https://twitter.com/molinaripg

Sullivan doesn't rule out using Malkin with Crosby in non-power play situations.
Malkin and Fleury. to no one's surprise, were noncommittal about their chances of playing in Game 2.
An actual power-play drill is now going on, with Letang, Kessel, Crosby, Malkin and Hornqvist on the top unit.
    Lines in just-ended drill: Kunitz-Crosby-Hornqvist, Rust-Malkin-Sheary, Hagelin-Bonino-Kessel and Kunhhackl-Cullen-Fehr.
In a drill, Malkin is on LW with Crosby and Hornqvist.

I just don't believe he will. Why would the risk it , especially with Malkin and while the have a 1:0 lead in the series.

I think it's just another mind game the Pens are playing.
