Do I grab Varlamov RoS?

Hi everyone, I know there has been a lot of talks on Varly lately. He was just dropped in my league, and I have waiver priority. Playoffs start the week after next and I have a good shot of getting in. Should I drop Lehner or Talbot to get Varly? Last month, I would have jumped on this but not sure given Varly's recent play (which is probably why he was dropped).

Currently leaning towards dropping Talbot.

Well, Varly won't be starting for a while, and Roy has sort of stated that he's probably going to go with a "hot hand" approach between him and Pickard, and Varly is definitely not that right now.

Talbot is locked in as the main guy now, and with not a whole lot to play for, I really think the Oilers ride him the rest of the way regardless of how he plays. So if nothing else, he'll net you saves with a decent sv% and a few wins. Varly doesn't seem well positioned for any of those things at the moment.

Lehner has been solid too, similar to Talbot he's the guy and will get you some W's

Thanks for the replies - I took a look at the future schedule and he would only net me more starts IF he plays all of the time. If COL is going to lean on Pickard, or even split starts, then he isn't really worth it.

See how tonight goes. If Pickard is solid I'd say he has a very good chance at stealing the job for the foreseeable future. Varly's been on thin ice for a while, and I think last game may have been the breaking point for Roy.

I'm actually trying to decide myself if I want to drop Lehner or Korpisalo for Pickard...
