    Default Ottawa Trip

Going to a game on March 26 with some buddies for a guys birthday, huge Karlsson fan.

We need a hotel and a place to eat/drink before and after the game (close to the arena if possible).
Any ottawa natives able to help me out with some suggestions?

Edit: If someone wants to come to the game we have an extra ticket lol (make an offer)!

    Used to live in Ottawa.

These are the suggestion I give every time for people going to the game and looking for pre-game / post-game drinks.

#1 The Senate It's right down in the market and they do a school bus to the game for like 5$ I think. Good beer and food deals too.

#2 The Sens House just opened up, a little bit more fancy, it's owned by the Senators.

#3 Real Sports. Not my cup of tea, but some people like it. Lots of TV's.

hotel: Holiday Inn (probably best bet), Country Inn, or Brookstreet (high end)

Eat/drink: #1 choice for me is Central Bierhaus (great food and tons of beer, partly owned by Chris Neil), Jack Astor's, Three Brewers brewpub (kinda not great), Baton Rouge. All in the Kanata centrum

What time do you guys think we would be BACK at The Senate, we will probably book a table so we can eat and drink all night (if it's crowded).
    Game is at 7pm

Is the school bus round trip, has to be right?

yes it is. You can go to a lot of places that will bus to the game. Most even offer free bus ride with food/beverage purchase

I would skip on Real Sports. 1. Because I’m not a big fan of the one even in Toronto, not for the price at least, and 2. You can just go to the one in Toronto, go to something Ottawa Unique.

Real Sports does a $5 Coors Banquet and $10 LUNCH Burger and Fries (11;30-3) on saturdays but other than their daily specials, I think the foods overpriced.

Okay we went cheap and just booked the comfort inn since it's super close to the senate.
Anyone wanna come to the game lol, make an offer on the ticket.
If no one wants to we will find some stranger at the senate and bring him in exchange for beers

my wife and I really enjoy staying at the holiday inn(kanata) when going to an event at canadian tire center - I believe theres a moxy's , montana's, boston pizza all within walking distance .the arena itself is probably a 5 minute cab ride .

This is crazy to me. I've only been to one game in Canada, it was in Montreal and it cost a fortune. I assumed teams like Ottawa/Toronto/Montreal would pack the house regardless of team performance. I live in Chicago and you can't even get a nosebleed ticket to a Hawks game for under $150.

The Sens still have decent attendance and near sellouts even now when it's looking like they won't make the playoffs, but the ends of the top level are always cheap because they're a discount/promo zone. Last night, an hour before gametime, I saw two tickets for $6 USD each on stubhub. I got three tickets for $20 each on Boxing Day right from the Sens site with a discount code and a Boxing Day no-fees sale. These days you can usually get $20 or so tickets on stubhub if they aren't a Toronto/Montreal/Boston/etc game.
