For sure. Starting goalie on a decent team while Andy is hurt and potential to go on a run

Might as well if you need a goalie and nothing else is available on the WW.

If you're that desperate for a goalie then it doesn't hurt to give it a shot.

Most decent teams are way better defensively than the Ottawa Senators. They are currently giving up 3.05 goals and 33.4 shots per game which are 3rd worst and dead last in the league.

If you are looking for a goalie with a terrible track record outside of a miraculous 24 game run last season who's going to be starting for the worst defensive team in the NHL, then picking up Hammond is a good idea. Outside of that, I would avoid Hammond.

Yes their issue is team D but more shots against = good for save percentage and saves if those are categories in your league.

Hammond is fine, he isn't what he was last year but he isn't terrible either. I don't care for the track record when I see what a goalie does in the NHL. He's definitely an NHL goalie and has proven he can fill in when needed. I also think they play better when Hammond starts. Sens are 5-1-1 in the last six games and have been better with Phaneuf so Hammond is definitely worth a start if he is starting. They will probably win more than half of their remaining games just from offense alone.
