I was hooked on Boom Beach when it first came out, but I try to stay away from these ''freemium'' games. I would get frustrated that I couldn't advance more within the game without spending ridiculous amounts of money.

I recently started playing Marvel Contest of Champions and although it's a freemium as well, you can still have fun without the use of real cash. It's a fighting game where you build up a team of Marvel characters and battle in quests but what's cool about it is that if you opt to duel a real player instead of a bot, the system will pair you with similar rating players. The pairing system makes it more of a skillfull fight than a ''I spent more cash on my fighter so he's stronger than yours'' type of a fight.

Yeah I hear ya, the temptation to buy gems in boom beach is very real haha
I have been saving gems and powder since I started, the 1000 gems when you hit 600 victory points was awesome!!
I have around 200 powder but when I was a noob i dumped my 72PSC which sucks haha

Ya, I guess that's the way to go. If you don't want to use cash to advance, you have to be real patient and save all your loot, little by little... Drives me nuts

Haha, you're still playing this?!?! ''Push the Canada leaderboard''... Holy smokes, you must literally be on your phone playing Boom Beach during during every poo over the past year or so

Haha thanks, quite a long ways to go though!
#50 in Canada has 1154vp so I'm around 200 away from that.
I am almost at 600 powder so I'm gonna try and get to 1200 and then hopefully make two ICE MP's by then and deploy them.
I'm just lucky I live in Canada, the other leaderboards are much harder haha
