    Default Top Multi-Cat Prospects?

Trying to identify some prospects who are likely to end up being very solid multi-cat contributors. Guys who will be pretty good at scoring but will be extra valuable due to contributions in shots, hits, and PIMs, similar to a Wayne Simmonds, Scott Hartnell, David Backes or Boone Jenner. Blocks are good too.

    Currently looking at:
    Jake Virtanen
    Nick Ritchie
    Mike McCarron

Are there others that I should be keeping an eye on?

What kind of timeline are you looking at here? These guys you wanting to trade for or for a new league for next year?

12 team league. 23 man active roster, no farm system, so most of the guys we would be talking about here are available on waivers. I recently picked up Ritchie and am planning to pick up Virtanen. Looking for guys who are in the NHL right now or are likely to be in at the start of next year. Hoping to catch lightning in a bottle like I did with Panarin, Domi, Ehlers, Draisaitl this year and find a guy or two that can be reasonably decent contributors quickly, such that I can legitimize holding them until they turn into a strong multi-cat player within 3 years or so. Not looking to play the long game of 5-6 years, and not looking for guys who won't be playing in a lineup now or in the near future.

Yes, that's a good one. I noted him in the past but he slipped my mind. Added to my list. +1

In addition to those you mentioned and Crouse (in no particular order):
    Pavel Zacha
    Brendan Leipsic...think Gallagher
Hudson Fasching (may need a year in the A, but he could be force if he makes the Sabres out of training camp)
    Nick Paul
    Jason Dickinson
    Brendan Lemieux

McCarron is a guy I really love, he just seems to drive the play and be the central focus on the ice...I could easily see the Habs using him in front of the net on the PP, so I think he has a shot to produce more than just peripherals at the NHL level.

More names came to mind (these I wouldn't say are full-time NHL ready next year though):
    Ryan Gropp
    Christian Fischer
Justin Bailey (BUF)...same as Fasching, but currently playing in the AHL, just a matter if he makes the Sabres out of camp or not

Josh Anderson (CLB) is another...though I don't feel he will provide much offensively...but he will play NHL games next year

    Bumping this old thread.

Any new names, especially 2017 draftees and guys who aren't in the pros yet? It's hard to figure out for junior players who's the next Simmonds, Byfuglien, etc...

    Thanks

PS: Please no 23-year olds or so who have already shown that they aren't much more than a 4th liner

Anderson is a great name here, some articles have him slated to be moved up to 1RW slot this year alongside the smaller Panarin & Wennberg, put up decent numbers in a bottom six role last year too.

For names that didnt play a full year last year, Meier is one that could be a top six contributor in multi cats.
