Pick up Buchnevich or Connor now?

These two are available in my league and both seem to be getting more attention as of late. I have room on my roster to grab one or both now, but at the end of the season I'd have to drop Hertl and/or Lee.

I guess my question is, are Buchnevich and K Connor better prospects than Petan, Sprong, Baertchi Grigorenko, Hertl and Lee?

I traded my 2016 2nd round pick so this move is also partly to address that. I'm leaning towards no myself.

You need to pick them both up IMO. They are two of the best prospects out there, period. I prefer them both to Petan, Sprong, Baertschi and Grigorenko. I wouldn't drop Hertl before any of those guys as he has short-term value and upside. Lee I don't think has very high upside (goal heavy 50 points) but he is producing now so I wouldn't drop him before one of the prospects.

I would personally drop Grigs and one of Petan/Sprong/Baertschi.

I like Buchnevich and I think he could be a better own than Grigorenko or Baertschi. That said I probably wouldn't bother picking him up if I were you. Especially if it costs money.

The real gem here is Connor. He is already better than any other name you listed and you should pick him up immediately.

I would rather own Buch and Connor over Grigorenko and Baertschi / Lee.

Petan, Sprong and Hertl are nice pieces to own.

Thanks for the opinions. I find it hard to compare prospects that are in different leagues and stages of their career.

My post might have been a bit confusing. Out of the 6 players I mentioned I plan to drop Petan, Sprong, Grig and Baertchi. Lee and Hertl I planned to keep. And yes FA pick-ups are $5 but free at the draft (part of the annual by-in).

I'll look to consolidate a couple of the above in a trade to make room.

Id pick up both. I have in all my leagues except one where I totally forgot about Connor

Right now I'd rate Connor ahead of Buch but both are gems imo

D - Barrie, Brodie, Carlson, De Angelo, Dumba, Hutton, Klingberg, Pouliot, Ju Schultz
G - Bobrovsky, Schneider, Vasilevskiy

Drop Schultz, Poiliot, Hutton, Frolik for sure. Probably Smith.
Connor is a must add over all you mentioned but Hertl.
Buchnevich is a tougher decision. Sprong is only mentioned with the others due to the Penguins factor. I think I'd favor Buchnevich over him but they're all close IMO.
