Whats the take on Horvat? I picked him up in a trade as a favour to a GM to make a IR move. wasnt all that excited but the kid rips off two points last night. terrible +/-, but otherwise decent points.

any insight on what he should or could be?

I don't think he'll be as good as VAN hoped. I say he averages 40-50pts most of the time. Maybe 60pt potential is where I'd place him.

He would be a keeper on the team in your sig for sure......if you;re keeping 20. Vancouver is going in a rebuild on the fly and he's a main piece of it.

+/- doesn't worry me much right now because I don't think you're looking to compete

Bo has something like 15 points in his last 14 games. Sutter is out again. Not sure that helps Bo that much as he gets more defensive assignments with Sutter out, but he's on fire at the moment.

Potential future VAN captain and strong two-way centerman (think 60pts). If you're in a league that counts FW, he's going to be extra valuable.

15pts in his last 15GP. From what I've read, he's arguably the best player for the Canucks in the last 2 months.

I just flipped him and Namestnikov (both waiver wire adds a few weeks ago) for James Neal. So hopefully neither sets the world on fire.

As a vancouverite, Bo's easily going to be the next captain. But his value to the team/city is probably more than his fantasy value will ever be. Linden's going to model Bo after himself. I think his potential is a solid 2-way #2 C. For the next 3-5 years if you project him to be a 60pt+ guy and you may be disappointed. If you project him to give you 45+ pts, you'll probably be happy with him

I think he is playing above his head but I still think he will make a great #3 fantasy center with good cross category contributions. Especially once Sedin retires or if Sedin ends up in more of a veteran role.

Horvat does have a longshot high ceiling though but I am thinking he peaks at 50-60 pts with great faceoffs SHP kind thing.

Why would it change so soon? lol.

I like the O'Reilly comparison by Dikoi and I would say the same. High-end two-way centre with 65-70pt upside. Will likely take a long time to get there, if ever.

Don't let the +/- fool you, I think Horvat really played above expectations this season. Vancouver was terrible this year, and I think Horvat is probably one of the few players that fans/management should be happy about. He was largely snake bitten for the entire first half of the season, not to mention he was playing against other teams' top lines in only his second season. Managed to develop a bit of chemistry with Baertschi which is great for both players.

I still think he has the ability to be a second line 60 point C. I don't think he ever hits 70 tbh, but I do think he has what it takes to hit 60 in his career.
