How do you see Gardiner production now that Phaneuf is out of Toronto. I mean, for next year and beyond...

I have no doubt this will mean an increase in responsibility for Gardiner. His icetime was WAY up last night compared to most nights (he played over 25 minutes last night and his season average is under 20 minutes. In fact, I think he was the team leader for TOI last night.
How it correlates to production is still to be determined as the Leafs really aren't a great team but he should see more icetime. That certainly cant hurt him.

I don’t know where the confidence Gardiner had last night came from, but dang was he good last night. His goal was perttyyyy.
I don’t think there will be a major uptick in production, but minutes=more chances at points. Final minute of the game it was Gardiner and Rielly on the ice, which shows who’s the top dogs in the D-core now.
