Default Burakovsky vs. Nichushkin moving forward

    Andre Burakovsky vs. Valeri Nichushkin

Which kid do you like better going forward? I think a case could be made for each.

Burakovsky (23 in 48) is producing a bit better right now than Nichushkin (18 in 50). Both have a real nice pre-NHL pedigree. Both have a collection of toys to potentially play with (Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, Backstrom, Oshie, Carlson) and (Benn, Seguin, Sharp, Spezza, Klingberg).

Burakovsky is looking super flanking Kuznetsov. Nichushkin has seen spot duty with the big boys but the thought of him eventually lining up on the 1st line makes poolies drool.

Skill-wise, both are big, lanky wingers with speed and gifted mitts. Both are good shooters.

Nichushkin seems to get injured... a lot... though.

Who do prefer long-term? League in my sig.

It's certainly not helping but I'm debatting the exact same question... Nichushkin has a lot of "if & maybe" but so far, I have to give the edge to Burakovsky. But it's certainly not by a wide margin...

A case could be made about a hat and 2 piece of paper bearing their name...

Right now I think burakovsky, but for the long haul I think I'd rather Nichushkin. I'm a Nichushkin owner so there may be some hope here, but I really see him as earning a spot on the top line . I doubt this happens this season though.

I own both, and up until a month ago, I'd have stuck with Nichushkin.
But this streak has me thinking that, although Bennguin looks temping, Kuz might be just as beneficial for Burakovsky.

A year from now, the tables might flip again (or hopefully, it turns into a dead-heat of studly production!).

    Definitely Burakovsky.

Nichushkin will be a big bust (relative to the hype he's gotten on this board).
Many people know that I hate on Nichu a lot. He's got beauty mitts... lots of players do... but minimal hockey sense & passing touch.
Nichushkin's highlights always look good... he's one of those guys.
Maybe another Neiderreiter with less overall game. So that's not saying much.

For my money, Seguin and Benn are the only two fixtures on the top line, at least for as long as Ruff is at the controls. He just likes to move people around too much and I doubt that he will ever change.

Nichuskin can only force the issue by rising to Benn and Seguin's level and I just don't see that in him.
