Not enough meat on the bone to trade Malking. If you have to do it, which I do not recommend, you have to ask for all he has. Panarin, Barkov, Hedman, Marner and 1st 2nd and even that seems like trading a loonie for a buncha quarters just because of the roster spots they'll take.
However, to play contrarian you are fairly thin and a return like this may not be awful if you can get rid of Jokinen Riberio Bozak backlund Green..so maybe something to thing about actually

I'm of differing opinion.
I think you are close with your trade.
Malkin is a point-per-game player that is going to play 70games yearly.
That makes him a 70pt player. And that's all.
He notoriously misses spot games with soreness... and your league may or may not have an IR+ spot that affords you ability to roster another player to get his games missed.
He's a big-bodied frame player and those bodies don't hold up well after 30years.
Now IS the time to trade Malkin away (IMO) for any team that has somewhat of a rebuild.
Bennett is a rising young player that will probably score at 60/65/70/75pts over next 4 years.
That's Malkin territory in 3-years.
I like Panarin too... but this is a very magical season and I think he's more of a 55/60pt player over next 4 years.
If the 1st rounder is only going to be 3rd overall... I'd pass.
If it's top two... and you can get either Matthews or Puljujarvi, I'd say yes.
But Bennett/Panarin/Drouin.
I'd do that.
I'm one that has a lot of faith still in Drouin... (Seguin-lite, I think).
In a points-only, full-season games type league... I think that's adequate haul for Malkin (who will be 30 this summer.)
This is a fair assessment, from the other side of the fence... I am not and have never been a Malkin owner, so I haven't had to live with the injuries and random missed games due to soreness... those frustrations boil over in time as well.
I don't see you getting the return Dingy stated you should ask for, too many pieces for one player. To trade Malkin, you need a core player in return - someone bordering superstar status (not sure if this is Panarin - that's your evaluation of him really) , but not there yet, a top prospect & a top pick, maybe 2 prospects.
Remember this is fantasy hockey, don't take Tkachuk because TSN tells you to or b/c he goes 4th overall, take the highest offensive upsided player. A two way game doesn't really help you win fantasy games.
You're getting decent value for Malkin, if he'll include Barkov (the only player on that list that matches the rest of your return). If you think Panarin can be a 70+pt player for the next 3yrs then you've closed the gap considerably. I like using the search engine on this site to review previous posts regarding specific players to get individual valuations of ceiling and expectations ROS and 2+yrs... Is Bennett going to be 50-55pt/yr or 65+ or can he break into the next tier??
I would go for Marner over Barkov. if you can do Panarin, Bennett, 1st & Marner - definitely do it.
All that said, you know what you've got in Malkin... and you are fine keeping him. If you move him, you've committed to a rebuild.

I agree with trading Malkin now, but if the deal doesn't at least include Barkov, Drouin AND Bennett, it's not enough.

As a tack-on note... I'd love to see Barkov included too.
I just think he's shown so much this year that I'm assuming the other GM wouldn't include him.
I agree I asked for too much but I value Malking pretty high
I would need Barkov for sure I would accept the combo of Barkov Panarin Drouin 1 and be pretty happy.

Thanks so much to all who have replied. Awesome replies, giving me a lot to think about.
I'm thinking Barkov needs to be part of the deal. What if Barkov and no Panarin? I will try for both
but he may not go for it.

After pondering this over for a couple of days I really think I want to trade Malkin. I think his value will decrease from here on in.
So Far I have an offer of Barkov and Bennett or Panarin, Bennett and a first rounder (or maybe drouin, still working on getting him to agree to that).
Any of these good enough? I'm trying for more but the other manager keeps stating Malkins age and how injury prone he is.
Please let me know your thoughts on Barkov/Panarin side.
Thanks in advance.

I'd want Hedman included as well if I'm moving back Malkin.
Sorry Guys to keep adding to this thread.
I have one last offer for Malkin that I need opinions on.
Points only pool, keep 9 at end of the year.
Doughty, Letang, JVR or RNH, Letang JVR
Are any of these good returns or just him?
2 top 10 points dmen seems interesting and JVR is a 60pt player?
All thoughts appreciated!
