I'd have to say Barrie right now, but I could change my mind depending on whether or not Yandle is traded.

    Tyson Barrie is 24
    Keith Yandle is 29

Barrie is with Colorado and they have been turning it around lately, no?

I suppose the X-factor is where Yandle falls.

I would be inclined to take Barrie because of age, but that might change if Yandle signs/is traded to TBL (for example).

All things being equal, I have Barrie over Yandle.

This seems a bit harsh, considering that Yandle was doing just fine before the trade to the Rangers (a trade which I couldn't fathom at the time, btw). He and OEL were "the guys" out in the desert, and I expect that his reduced production has more to do with how he's being utilized in New York.

Yandle was a better producer on the Yotes, no doubt. I hated the fit in NY with him from the beginning but, after watching him play A LOT, I've learned to dislike his game. Yandle is now in the "Vanek" category for me - don't want; don't like.

Some d has to move in New York. if Girardi or staal moved on I'd like yandle a lot more. Even boyle gets used better in New York, he needs to go for sure. But unless, or until that happens I'd take barrie.

    Kev,

How do Rangers fans generally feel about Yandle? I just never saw the fit - he was never a "Ranger" to me. Another offensive D like Kevin Shattenkirk would be SO much better in NY than Yandle IMO.
