It’s dropping off, but he’s still a very good goalie I think. If the NHL changes the padding extensively I think he “falls off considerably”. He uses his size a lot and his quick reaction skills to stop pucks. By this I mean his heels are on the goal line like 90% of the game. He’s big enough where he doesn’t necessarily have to cut down an angle as much as other goalies, and his reaction speed is there for when he needs it. Then he has the athletic ability to pull of desperation saves.

When the equipment gets smaller (already looking that way), he’ll have to “reinvent” his style and it could take a bit for him to find where he needs to be in relation to the goal line. There’s some goalies who you see that the equipment changes won’t have a major effect (Holtby, Rask, Reimer, Gibson), but some where the goalie will have to change some of their traits (Bishop, Lundy, Price {not so much as the others})

I can move him for holtby, but packaged with a first round pick, i think holtby will be the future of fantasy goalies but that price is too stiff while giving up hank, am i correct in his value here and even 2,3,4 years down the road

Well its a keep, 3 players and a Dman league, players like couture, kucherov, eichel, getz, and d men like hedman, shatty, oel, ekblad, barrie, and goalies like allen, hellebuyck, bob.

Also to mention im not in any contention to win this year

I wouldn't do that, not in a keep 4. Lundy is definitely on the downslope, but you could probably draft somebody to take his place next year (or find a better deal).

How many goalies were kept last season?

Only 8 last year, this league is so weird and hard to get a grasp on the value of players with the limited keepers and the stats that are valued, I think i should be sitting on hank for sure but the people i deal with in this league drive me mad lol

A first round pick in that setup is too much. I`d do it for nothing more than a 3rd rounder

I am certainly no goalie expert and please correct me but this is exactly what everyone said about Lundqvist in 2013 when the pads were changed. And he did not skip a beat. With his excellent reaction (as you said) he is able to make the saves and I really don't think the new rules will affect him that much. I believe he is still easily a top 5 goalie so I definitely would not give up a 1st round pick to get Holtby.

Guys Lundy is a world-class goalie and always will be. He keeps fit and is constantly working on his game. With that said, goalies are only as good as the defense allows. The D in NY does look good for a few more years. Lundy will be great until 34-35 at which point the team is going to drop off and so will his ability. Right now he's elite. He just shut out the Pens tonight.

I own Lundy in my keeper and just realized the Rangers only play TWICE in our Championship week (Mar 28- April 3)....which would be the second last week of the regular season. YIKES,.

Every year lundy getting older and gonna slow down... Blah blah blah. Every year he he's an elite goalie. He's one of the most consistent goalies to have great end of year stats as anyone. Don't give a first for what MAY be a slight upgrade.
