I give Doughty, I receive Frederik Andersen - Thoughts ?

Hi, I need some opinions on this potential trade. Our keeper league has 12 teams, it's a keep all (25 players) with no farm. Goalies are very valuable in our league. The way our point system works, last year, out of the top 15 overall scorers, 11 were goalies (Andersen was 14 overall in points with 84, same as Crosby, Doughty was not top 100). So from this info, it seems a no brainer to do this trade but I am wondering, as many are, what does the future hold for Andersen ? Should I make this move and hope that he solidifies his position in Anaheim or hope that he gets traded or should I keep Doughty and pass on this offer ? I am thinking long term potential here.

Andersen is talented enough that he will be a starter somewhere, and soon. The only flaw I see with this deal is that your D becomes a real weak point. If you do take it I would definitely try to get another D to fill in, and fast. Likely for one of your younger forwards.

It's true that this move would make my D weak as Streit won't be a keeper next year, Ceci and DeAngelo are long term project that might or might not have success ... But defensemen are easier to trade for than goalies. I'm kinda of torn on this one.

From what I'm gathering, in this league, Andersen is the better player in the deal, so I would say jump on it and you can fix your D next. You have some nice pieces on F that would be moveable in that case.

I wouldnt worry about DEF esp since u say they are easier to come by...figure out the point diff between doughty and a replacement and then figure out how many points u may gain from having andersen.....theres your answer......btw i wouldnt worry about andersens future he willl be a starter somewhere, this year at trade deadline (maybe leafs) or by next year
