Lateral move.....keep Quick
Hi,
I own Quick. Would it be stupid to trade him for Schneider in a keeper league?

Yeah - there's seemingly no clearcut winner among them since Saves are not a category. Go with your gut, or stand pat.

I think it depends. I view them as pretty close but actually prefer Schneider long-term. I think Quick could break down sooner and I just think Schneider is the more talented goalie. If it's a one-for-one swap, go with your gut as it's almost a coin flip right now. But if I were you, I would try and talk Quick up as the better option and get Schneider+ inthe deal. I ended up doing exactly the same thing you are and I ended up trading Quick for Schneider + Trouba in a dynasty league which I'm more than happy with.
I couldn't agree with rtstr more. I think Schneider might be the best goalie in the world right now, but he happens to be not in the best situation. Quick is on the better team with the better defense. If you could do a Schneider + for Quick, it is something that I would strongly consider.

I agree with both above.
HOWEVER. I have Schneider and I don't know if I would make that move.......I think Schneider is an awesome goalie and while the Devils may not give a lot of fantasy players, if they continue to play the defensive system Schneider will just keep getting better.

I'd take Schneider over Quick in a keeper easily. Quick has had some mediocre regular seasons in the last few years. Schneider is insanely talented.

Oh, and Quick can be counted on to have a week damaging stinker of a game every other week; Schneider does not.
If Quick gets on another hot steak like he did a month ago, I'll be seeing what I can get for him (not saying that I'd trade him, necessarily).
I won't be putting Schneider on the trading block any time soon.
agree 100% with tobias, as I own both quick and schneider as well. Quick will get you more Wins, but Schneider destroys Quick in GAA and Save %.
The gap in wins is not that big this year since NJ is actually scoring goals (last year they would lose a ton of 1-0 games) …. its even possible that NJ develops in to a better team over the next few years.
Schneider is a better goalie.

Schneider. NJD best forward isn’t even on the team this yr. Schneider this yr and for the future. I’m on the side of the fence that says if you can get a goalie with great periphs, eventually the team around them will grow to put up good win numbers.
If I’m a Schneider owner, I’m not making this trade. Plus I’ve never liked Quick. I think he carries a lot of his name weight based on playoff production. He’s a very good goalie, I just think he goes to that “Elite” level come playoff time, and that somehow carries over into the regular season fantasy GM thoughts.
