New unique adopt-an-mlb-team h2h-pts/deep/minors/salary/contracts dynasty $30(Fantrax)

Hello prospective GMs! The NARBL is an extremely unique, extremely deep, and sure-to-be extremely fun league where you can lead your favourite mlb team to the promised land! I've run something very similar in hockey and it has been enormously fun, so I'm adapting it to my other favorite fantasy sport, baseball!

While there are a lot of rules in the NARBL that deal with the league’s many unique features, the day-to-day management of your team is actually designed to be simple and very similar to your traditional H2H Fantasy Baseball league. Scoring for the most part is based on ‘classic sabermetric’ weights, and many of the unique/’non-standard’ features (specifically, contracts, FA-vote-offs, FA Blind Bidding Periods) are designed to occur in the pre-season to replace/’streamline’ the traditional keeper/FA Draft-style turnover process dynasty fantasy leagues.

SUMMARY

-MAIN IDEA: You are tasked with rebuilding an existing MLB team’s roster (2016) into a perennial (H2H-’Sabermetric-style Points’) fantasy baseball powerhouse.
-Adopt an MLB Team to Start & fill up ~half (17/35) of your inaugural roster with 12 non-minor leaguer and 5 minor leaguers from that MLB team only. The player pool for the inaugural draft will be composed of all players of unclaimed inaugural MLB teams (~14/30 MLB teams), plus all the other players not chosen by other GMs.
-16~18 Teams, $30 Entry Fee, 100% Payout. $200~230 1st Place, $100~115 2nd Place, $100~115 'Wildcard Lottery' team. ~$80 required to cover the Fantrax Premium league fee for all the advanced salary/minors/contract/etc. options that we use. Fantrax Treasurer system used.
-22-player active roster sizes + 3 Reserve(inactive) + 10 player farm team = 35-Player Total Roster Size + (4 IR)
-H2H Points-Only -- sabermetrics-style (but with safeguards to de-incentivise ‘streaming’)
-Semi-weekly matchups (Mon->Thurs & Fri->Sun)
-Teams only need to submit their lineups twice a week, but each lineup period during the regular season works like “triple-headers”, so each team is playing 3 games per period, for a total of 6 games a week. Approx. 120-130 game schedule for regular season.
-Playoffs run through final 4.5 weeks of the season. 3-round playoffs, 1-½ weeks per round, with 3 lineup periods per round (Mon->Thurs & Fri->Sun). Top 6 regular season teams qualify for the playoffs (1st & 2nd place w.Rd-1 bye).
-Regular Season FA System: Free Agent Acquisition Bidding. $200 Million FAAB / year. Winning bid becomes the player’s salary for the remainder of the season. Bids processed twice a week (Sun & Thurs). For year 1 FAAB becomes active following the inaugural draft. For year 2+ the FAAB gets reset just before the "FA Frenzy 'Draft'" period.

OFF-SEASON/PRE-SEASON
-Yearly offseason Free Agency Vote-Off period during the offseason allows teams to ‘vote-off’ a limited amount of players from other teams into the FA Pool. You can ‘protect’ your players by offering them contract extensions (which include signing “bonuses”/penalties, but teams can only offer up to 4 contract extensions per year. GMs will need to decide how to best balance the risk/rewards when locking up their players long-term or leaving them exposed in the FA ‘Vote-Offs’.
-Salary Cap & Contracts. Cap set to start @$250M in inaugural season.
-Contracts based on the principle of ‘escalating contracts’, but the premium you pay is built into and spread out into the duration of the contract. E.g., you could sign Trout to something like $20M x 1yr, or $22M x 2yr, or $24M x 3yr., but at the end of the contract they could be exposed to Free Agency depending on the results of the FA Vote-Offs.
-Annual Free Agency Frenzy periods (LASTS APPROX 1 MONTH LEADING UP TO START OF SEASON):
-Basic idea is first trimming rosters back down to 22 non-minor leaguer ‘keepers’ followed by a series of FAAB blind-bidding periods. After cutting down to their ‘keepers’ all teams should still have just enough players to fill out their active lineups, and should technically need only to fill their 3 reserve slots (+ injury replacements, if applicable.).
-FA bids during the FA Frenzy Period are resolved 3 times a week on Sun, Wed, & Fri nights, up to 1 winning bid per team, per period.
-Minimum bids(“salary demands”) will be generated by the system for each Frenzy FAAB Bidding Period. The minimum bids/salary demands will start rather high at the start of the Frenzy Periods, but each period player salary demands will be lowered and in the week prior to the start of the season minimum salary demands are lifted and all FAs will sign for the league minimum (1M) for the rest of the season. This system is meant to replace the traditional yearly “FA Draft” system.
