Keep 5 league offer: Rinne+ for Price

Basically, a fellow in my league who is in the top 4, but slipping a bit in goal due to Price's injury. The keep 5 league in my sig. His team is Mitchell, Spezza, Landeskog, Kessel, Stafford, Neal, Monahan, D Sedin, Pirri, Hudler, H Sedin, Letang(IR), Edler, Seabrook, Crawford, Ramo, Darling, Price(IR)

Yesterday I completed a trade to acquire Tavares from a guy under the same idea. I stack him with 3 good players for one, while taking 2 garbage players back. I get the best player in the trade to help with my rebuild next year in return for putting him in a win now situation.

Trying something similar now.
Offered Rinne, Bozak and Vatanen for Price(On IR), Ramo and Mitchell.

Crux of the offer is, Rinne is a top 5 goalie in the league for the #1 goalie in the league who is on IR till who knows, and I upgrade him with Bozak(twice as many faceoffs + twice as much scoring over Mitchell, and give him Vatanen, who after a cold start, has 14 points in the last 18 games.

Good offer? Where should I draw the line if he counter offers?

I consider McDavid, Tavares, Burns and Draisaitl my keepers for next year, and obviously, Rinne unless he accepts this trade.

In no way shape or form that this offer is even remotely close to getting you Price; especially in a limited keeper (only 5 guys). I doubt he even considers countering...

Wheteher he is struggling or not, he will not hurt his team just to patch a hole. Price should be back in 10 games. Getting an aging Rinne and spare parts for Price is something I doubt any manager would do. If Price were to be out for the whole year (I sure hope not), then maybe, just maybe a competing manager may be interested in moving the NHL's top tender for instant reinforcements.

However, in your case, the reward simply helps him for a few weeks and then hurts him afterwards...

If you want to get Price, Rinne is a good starting point but he has to get at least another guy that he will consider keeping at the end of the year. If not, it's basically a 1vs1 from a keeper perspective and I doubt he is interested in moving the younger/better player here...

EDIT: Hehe, I just looked at your Tavares trade... maybe the other managers aren't so sharp afterall and this trade may work out

Is this a H2H league? If so, nobody in their right mind would trade Price (who should be back very soon) for Rinne.

Maybe try replacing Virtanen (virtually useless to him this year) for Domi (who's not a keeper for you anyways).

It's Vatanen, but I doubt he holds enough value to a manager to want to move Price anyways. The Domi addition is not bad; good thinking!

Nonetheless, we both agree that this offer falls way short if he wants to land Price!
