Start Dunbyk or Kuemper this week?

Dubnyk seems to be still nursing a groin injury and in practice today he was sharing net with Backstrom, an indication he might not be ready to return. My league has weekly roster changes and I need to decide by tonight at 6:55 who to activate for the week.

League counts Wins and SV%. I am leading the league in wins by one and have .918 SV%, which puts me in the middle. We start 2 goalies.

Kuemper - playing well lately behind a solid Minny defensive system. The memories of his killing my SV% last year are still fresh in my mind so I'm a little hesitant to activate. Looks like he'll play at least one game, possibly more.

Dubnyk - not ready yet, will he be a little rusty after coming back? Would the Wild take their time with him and possibly sit him for a few more games, if Kuemper is playing well? Dubnyk may only play 1 game or 2 or none.

Darcy Kuemper will start in net for the #mnwild tomorrow. Devan Dubnyk will be the backup, his first time dressing since suffering injury.

Thanks for the update. Hmm, that is the first time Yeo has chosen Kuemper over Dubnyk. I guess he's easing the latter in, given how well Kuemper has played. Well, that info doesn't make my decision any easier

Ya it makes it tough to know what to do in a weekly start league. If I had to guess, I'd assume Dubnyk gets back in there the next game, unless Kuemper is incredible tomorrow night but that is simply an assumption.

I would start Dubnyk. Pretty sure he will be the starter Thursday. Play your stud.

I would go with Kuemper because he is the goalie that is starting tomorrow. If Dubnyk was completely healthy he would be starting tomorrow. It's a groin injury, he's a goalie and Kuemper has only allowed 1 regulation goal in 2.5 games. As long as the Wild keep playing as well as they have been defensively and Kuemper keeps making saves, there is no need for Dubnyk to rush back from his 2nd minor injury of the season.

Thanks guys for your input. This is probably gonna come down to how well Kuemper plays on Tuesday. If he wins and has another strong game (<2 goals) then I could see him start again Thursday. So I could see this play out 2 ways:
1. Kuemper continues to play great, starts and wins 2 games
2. Kuemper gets shelled and Dubnyk comes in to relieve him and starts and wins all the games this week.

Yeah, in my mind there are only extremes

It will be his first appearance in the cage since Dec. 5 when he exited a game versus Colorado because of a groin injury. Dubnyk owns a 13-7-2 record along with a .918 save percentage and a 2.30 goals-against average this campaign. Feel free to get him back in your lineup.

Yeah, I did end up starting Kuemper (I asked my daughter to choose for me so it was pretty much a random choice)

Happy with that decision, a win and good SV%. Dubnyk likely starts next 2 games and may get 2 wins but maybe none and who knows about SV%; Minny plays Rangers at home and Nashville on the road.
