What a great read! Scott Darling - Goodbye, Chicago

I had no idea how difficult a journey it was for Darling. Just wow. Feel good story right there.

Alex Pietrangelo takes you on an emotional rollercoaster from his backyard rink, to playing with future NHLers to loss.... Great Read.

Basically my takeaway from this is that he's always been a piece of shit.

He tries to get sympathy midway through the article by saying that he had to play the way he plays in order to get noticed, because nobody in the NHL would have given him a look if it was just for his skill. What he forgets is he spent the first half of the article admitting that he's been a sack of shit since he was a kid.

He didn't adapt his game to fit the NHL, he's lucky the NHL wanted his type game. In any case, it's a moot point because he actually is a very good hockey player. He just still engages in a lot of douche baggery.

Not even a minute into reading it and he has already called someone else a "little rat". Sweet, sweet irony.

I am pretty confident in going out on this limb in saying - he meant it that way

    1) He is a massive piece of shit
    2) He deserves major credit for his dedication to improving as a player. He's risen to the NHL's elite as an offensive player.
