I agree. There's always someone dumb enough to offer those big contracts, but are there two in this case? Not sure.

He’s playing with fire I guess. He may be thinking he can cash in when a team doesn’t get Grienke or Price. I do not like Cueto, and if I was a GM I don’t think I’d even take a glance at him until he’s like the last guy standing and drops his asking price by a lot. But he is the No3 available pitcher in FA, so a team could go and do a panic signing.

Lets say Boston misses on Price, they could take the money they were going to spend on Price, and offer Cueto like 90% of that contract in a panic decision. Or if SF signs Grienke, Price signs with Cubs, Dodgers may be in a bit of a “oh shit we’re going to be left behind unless we get a top SP”
