Default Who's going to get called up and make a big splash?

Are there any Nyquist's or Tatar's out there? I'm wondering who is on the farm that could get the call and never look back? I'm looking for players that are being brought along slowly but when given a chance with a call up this year will make it impossible for the team to send them back down. The cream of the crop from last years draft are typically not what I'm looking for as most of these guys are already owned, however, a guy who is in his second or even third year in the AHL who has all the tools to be an NHLer and has fallen slightly off the radar, well that's the kind of player I am looking to target. What does the forum think?

Namenstnikov and Marchessault would probably fit that category

He doesn't fit the mould of a Tatar or Nyquist per se, but Michael Mersch will be getting his call from the Kings any week now. His game fits perfectly with the system and he showed great chemistry in preseason with Carter and Toffoli. Lucic now occupies that spot, but I won't be surprised if again (like in preseason) Tanner Pearson gets bumped down to the bottom 6 in favour of Mersch. His value is also magnified in multi-cat leagues as he's a big hitter and shoots in volumes. If you can stash him on your farm, do it.

I thought Andrew Agozzino would make a big splash. Played 1 game so far this season but was on the 4th line. See how he does in the next few games

All I can think of right now:
    - Gostisbehere is likely owned but if not jump all over him.
    - I really like Arvidsson for NSH but he has not shown much when he has played 5 games in the NHL. However the kid had a 13 game point streak in the AHL where he put up 62(!!!!) shots in that span.
    - Montour for ANA is lighting up the AHL right now
    BEER RULES - 16 team H2H keeper. Dress: 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 6D, 2G Reserve: 5; 20 farm players

    C: Hischer, Zib, J.Hughes
    LW: Guentzel, Svechnikov
    RW: Bratt, Pastrnak
    D: Hamilton, Weegar
    G: Merzlikins, Samsonov, Murray
Rookies: Too many awesome prospects to list

    Yahoo - Keep 3, 12 team H2H.

I can't list my 2nd main keeper as there are too many players, but it is a keep all H2H points-only league

With King coming back and Sutter's utter reluctance to use young players (Example: Shore 3rd line C with Brown and Clifford..gross, and Weal scratched constantly) if Mersch comes in he will only see the fourth line. Pearson, Brown and Lucic will occupy the top 9 LW spots and Gabby, Toffoli and King/Clifford will occupy the top 9 RW spots unless injuries occur

One kid that we could be seeing fit this description right now is Sven Andrighetto.

Maybe Kerby Rychel and another name of a kid we have already seen is Devin Shore. It would take injuries to happen before we see any of these kids truly get a legit shot though.

Yep. How long did it take them to even get trusted top 6 minutes? And Toffoli doesn't even play top PP when he leads the Kings in goals. Not to mention it took about 15 games for Sutter to take Brown off the top line and put Pearson there.

Those were my favorites too. Was able to snag Ghost but not Hellboy 'cause I didn't want to drop Ullmark. That was not a good decision.

It has taken time for sure and I agree Sutter is less open than others to giving young players substantial chances, but as a proven team with two recent Cups, I cannot blame him too much

I think Rickard Rakell has a good chance at sticking on the top line with Getz and Perry...could make for a "low risk, high reward" kinda move. He's one of the most skilled guys to play with Getz and Perry since Ryan.
    12 teams, H2H Points, Limited Keeper League (10th year), 6 keepers. 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 4D, 2UTIL, 2G
    G (2), A (1), +/- (0.5), PIM (0.2), GWG (1), HAT (2), HIT (0.1), BLK (0.2), PPP (1), SHP (2)
    W (3), L (-1), GA (-1.), SV (0.2), SO (2)

Keepers = Barkov, Panarin, Marner, Stone, Josi, Fleury
