Question about a sticky situation in a one year league. Rep...

Hey all,

So a situation has risen in a one year league, and the commissioner who is a friend of mine, has asked me for help. For reasons I would rather not get into, one of the GMs has been removed from the league after getting himself into some trouble. So the question is, what to do with his team...

It is a money league. Every team has like 12 players and there are around 15 teams in the league. Everyone is allowed 3 add/drops before the All-Star break, and everyone gets 3 more after the break. There are teams who have already used all of their add/drops for the first half of the season.

So, these 12 players on the folded team have the potential to change the league huge. If somebody is able to drop Sam Gagner to pick up Taylor Hall, that is game changing.

Thoughts? I said there are a few options. All of the players on the folded team are off limits for the rest of the season. Or people are allowed to freely use remaining add/drops to get anybody they want. Or they have some kind of random draft for the new players.

Does anybody else have any ideas? I will rep all for input here.

Why not just find a replacement? Using the classifieds here should generate some interest.

Replace him - especially if entry fee is already paid you shouldn't have any problems

It's an easy decision....his players are locked out.

This has the smallest impact on the league.

I'd simply get a replacement GM or lock his team for the remainder of the season.

Hell, if his team is close to winning, I'll take over his team.

You can't disperse that team, there is no "fair" way to do it. And a random process would be a joke.

The two options presented are both ok: freeze the team for the duration of the year, OR, find someone to take over the team.

This happened in one of my leagues earlier this year, and the league unanimously voted to freeze all players. (It's a keeper league). The team will be dispersed in the off season.

I think the least hassle would be to just freeze his team. Put it to a vote.

I'd have to agree with either locking his team for the duration of the season or getting someone to take over for it. Just makes the most sense. Based on your own post it already seems like you know that there's no way that you can dump his team into the FA pool mid season.
