Default Lose waiver priority for Hudler?

    Hey, guys!

Someone in my league just dropped Hudler and I'm tempted. I know he's not a 76-point guy, but I think 60 is in reach as long as he's playing with Monahan and Johnny Hockey. I already own a ton of Flames. Will adding one more be a good or bad thing, and does Hudler still have value after his slow start?

Something to consider: I have #1 waiver priority right now out of 10 teams. That said people in my league rarely drop legitimately good players, to my dismay (no one panicked during the start of the season), so waiver priority generally doesn't mean much.

    Thoughts? Thanks!

While I think he's worth the gamble on, especially if quality guys rarely hit the WW, I am not sure about this. Looking at your roster, I don't know who I'd want to drop. You have built a nice looking team long-term.

I don't think Hudler makes your team (although that is a hard team to believe in a ten team league). Unfortunately, someone else will likely grab him.

Not DeAngelo? I know he's an excellent prospect, but I'm lucky in that many owners in my league focus on the here-and-now a lot more than the future. So I think I could get him back if he starts making NHL noise...

Thanks for the feedback! A lot of my team is home-grown. Either I got them via my league's first draft (Crosby, Tarasenko, Karlsson, Shattekirk, Rask) or I picked them off waivers (Monahan, Gaudreau). The rest has been trades, primarily giving up youth (which I stockpiled early on due to my interest in prospects) to teams that now need to start major, ground-up rebuilds (which is how I got guys like Malkin, Seguin, and Kopitar). If you can believe it, I'm only 5th right now. H2H means the better team on paper can still lose a lot.

Maybe DeAngelo I guess. Still hard to let him go but if you need the help today then he could be the guy.

Deangelo would be the only asset I'd consider dropping for a shot with Hudler. Although he rarely gets a start for me lately. Not the same Hudler as last year.
