Likely just tongue in cheek trash talk, but it was explained to me as EDM's first overall picks are either hurt (Hall & McDavid), or underperform their relative draft position (Nuge & Yakapov).Originally Posted by Axeman33

RNH and Yakupov underperform in regards to their draft position?
Go look at their draft years and the performance of the other picks at this stage of their careers.
In regards to Nuge, there is one guy who has more points in his career at this point and that is the 2nd overall pick, Gabriel Landeskog (he has six more points).
Go look at Yakupovs draft year. Again, there is one guy ahead of him in regards to career points and that's the 3rd overall pick, Alex Galchenyuk (he has 19 more points).
As "tongue and cheek" as that comment may have intended to be, it is ignorant and I don't mean in the rude way.
