Marner will likely hit the NHL next yr. I can't see the Leafs forcing him to be in the CHL again. He isn't eligible for AHL work till he's like 20yrs old. So he'll likely have the biggest impact the fastest

Are you in my league? lol

I ask because I recently executed a trade in which the person gets to choose between Marner and Puljujarvi following the WJHC, so I've been thinking about the two of them quite a bit lately, and you can't think about Puljujarvi without thinking about Laine considering they are so often discussed together as two of the most exciting Finnish prospects to enter the draft in a long time.

I can't really answer your question about upside because so much of JP's upside will be based on the team that drafts him. Marner, on the other hand, has a great opportunity to excel in Toronto because he would arguably already be among their best forwards if he played for them now.

JP is likely to play in the NHL right away, and Laine too for that matter, but if they end up on a team that can't put them in the top 6 right away, their development (and upside) could be limited.

All three prospects are very intriguing, however.

Three good prospects. I'd go with Marner because he's older.
