    Default Halak vs. Allen

If Allen's 45 save shutout tonight firmly places him as the 1A option in St. Louis, who would you go with ROS?

Allen. The Blues are more consistent than the Isles, have a better defense, and Halak is more prone to injury.

Elliot is finished after that fiasco the other day. Getting pulled then put back in then faking an injury to get pulled etc. Tired of him. It's allens crease from now on. He's emerged from this 1A 1B mess going on forever and Elliots finally done IMO.

I'd take Halak over Allen in a one-year league. Brian Elliot may not be a threat today, but he still is lurking behind the scenes. Even if Halak is more variable, I think he's a safer choice.

Allen is on fire while Halak hit or miss right now. I agree that Allen has a much shorter leash as Elliott is always ready to take over as he is proven.

Allen's value is reaching a peak right now, but even as the #1 guy do they still give Elliott like 35 starts? That does hamper Allen's value, regardless of how well he is playing.

I like Allen. Halak will start more, but will he win more? I don't think so. Allen has been lights out, and although his numbers are slightly unsustainable he is the better goalie, and he is better than Elliott. Allen is the goalie of the future for St Louis and the future seems to be much closer to now than it was at the start of the season.

Further to that, goaltending tandems have unfortunately become more and more prevalent, I remember when Roloson/Fernandez was the only notable one, now there is Allen/Elliott, Jones/Stalock, Talbot/Nillson, Buffalos 2 AHL goaltenders, Bernier/Reimer, and soon to be Bishop/Vasilevskiy.
