Giroux for Roman Josi

So a GM was wanting to boost up his Defence and was thinking of offering me Giroux for my Roman Josi. Team in Sig
Normally I would just hit accept but I feel my forwards are already really deep and with 6D starting they are really thin to find another.
Im also not a Giroux fan so that may be persuading things.. I know he's a slow starter.. Maybe i can try and bundle trade with someone else for another solid def.

Do you get extra points from D? Josi will probably get you more points from Blocks, +/- and Hits than Giroux, but that might be it - Giroux will d o better in the other cats.

If you get Giroux, you might be able to flip him over for another D +. Maybe Target Carlson + with Giroux?

No extra points from Def.. but going from Roman Josi to a FA def would be quite the drop in points... maybe more then i would gain from Giroux is what I'm wondering. I consider Josi > Carlson slightly. I could just run 5Def until i find a good trade. Think I could swing a deal for Shattenkirk

Giroux is money. Josi's probably a top-10 D-man but if you can trade him away for Giroux, who is probably a top-10 forward, then I think you have to do it.

I have him too so it's a little annoying having to wait through his cold streaks/unpredictable starts but having owned him in previous seasons I've seen the way that he can just go on a tear and make you wonder why you ever doubted him. The 13-14 season did it for me

You have Subban, Faulk, Barrie, Vatanen AFTER you trade Josi. Do it in a heartbeat. Giroux is unreal and I still think he hits 80. Preseason no one would make this move. Use the slow start to your advantage and get him while you can

You have options if you make the trade, which I think you should. Main three are: Pick up FA D, trade a hot forward for a slumping D-man, or keep the spot empty and rotate forwards with off days for starts.

I agree with others, it's a lot easier to acquire Dmen than it is superstars like Giroux.

Make the deal and get Giroux, then worry about finding another quality D later.

Giroux is the better player to own, period. This kind of offer doesn't come along every day.
