    Default Do I need a 3rd goalie?

Yahoo H2H league. Keep 12. Cats are G, A, +/-, PIM, GWG, PPP, SHP, Hits, Blocks, W, GAA, SV%, SO.

    Current roster:

C: Giroux, Pavelski, Brassard, Lee, Larkin
RW: Wheeler, Simmonds, Strome, Zibanejad, Abdelkader
LW: Landeskog, Zetterberg, N. Foligno, Perron
D: Carlson, Phaneuf, Hamonic, Trouba, Del Zotto, J. Johnson,
    G: Rask, Fleury

    My questions:

    1a) Considering Rask's struggles, do I need a 3rd goalie?
1b) If I do, who best to drop?

    Goalies on the wire:

    Mrazek
    Nilsson
    Hutchinson

    Lehtonen
    Bernier
    Berra
    Raanta
    Lack

    I've bolded my top preferences.

At the moment, I like my forward group so much that I'm resistant to dropping one for a 3rd string goalie. I could drop a D-man, but I like having 6 in order to dominate hits and blocks.

    Opinions?

How many players do you start at each position? And is it weekly lineups or daily?

And you mention dominating hits and blocks... is it a H2H categories league?

    Yes, H2H and categories are at the top of the post. Daily starts: 2C, 2RW, 2LW, 2F, 1W, 4D, 1Util, 2G

Yes, I see H2H and I see a list of categories... so is it a H2H each category league? Or a head to head most categories league? Or a H2H where you get X amount of points for each stat in in a category?

I would like to have a third goalie to maximize my goalie starts. Have you seen/used the same night tool for positions? It is a very useful tool.

In a league where you start two goalies and 4 D. I would like to have a mix of 3 goalies and 5 d to maximize the starts.

You don't need 3 goalies with your goalie cats in a H2H - each category is a win setup. I'm assuming this is your setup.

Your 2 goalies have just as good of a shot at capturing the GAA and S% each week. You might have a bit better odds in increasing wins, but I would rather roster a player that helps with 4-5 skater cats.

I recommend keeping an eye on your goalie cats late in the week and swap in a waiver wire goalie in a good matchup to steal a cat if your behind on the weekends.

^ That's pretty much my feeling as well. Thanks for the feedback guys.

And yes, a win or loss for each category is right.

Ya. That seems like the best option
