the Flames are going to ride the hot hand. So there will be stretches where it is Hiller and stretches where it is Ramo.
Was wondering what everyone thought about the Flames goaltending situation. I like Ramo a lot but I have a feeling the Flames are going to use Hiller more this year. Who knows, maybe Calgary will trade someone to Buffalo

Ramo is going tonight (I think) so it seems like they are willing to bounce back and forth, much like most of the other combos in the NHL this year.

Ya, I saw Ramo's going tonight. I think that's whats going to happen, I just don't see where Ortio fits in with this.
Approach with caution.
RETIRED
One of Hiller/Ramo will get traded at some point(I'm guessing sooner rather than later) and then it'll be the other guy and Ortio.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
You think? I mean, it seems like that would really hurt his development if he only got in a few games this year. I know he isn't waiver exempt but I feel like they have to do something with him
Ya, they definitely have to trade one of the three soon

Ramo is going tomorrow night.
Ramo is also worse than Hiller.
And they will continue to rotate whenever the other loses.
And the situation will continue with Ortio once one of them is traded.
Despite the on/off goaltending carousel, I think Ortio has long-term staying power. Flames wouldn't be keeping 3 goalies if they didn't think so.
1) They didn't expose him to waivers because they're afraid to lose him
2) They are displaying Ramo/Hiller for trade potential.
3) Flames are a young team and a younger goalie is ideal. Hiller and Ramo are not young and haven't proven anything big at the NHL level.

I don't know, I feel like Ortio hasn't proven much. I think he's okay but I think the Flames will try to trade him and go with a Hiller/Ramo combo. Why else would they have signed Ramo? They could have just let him walk
You're right - Ortio has not proven much- but he did have a great stretch one time last year. I think that's more promising to Calgary at this point than Ramo's 0-3 start. I don't anticipate Ramo will be claimed on waivers, despite his low price. Ortio will steal starts from Hiller for sure.
