You should be fine! (says the guy who also has Andersen as his number one...)
Currently have Andersen as my #1 guy with Pavelec and Darling as my other options (ugh). This is not for the league in my sig; it's a cap league.
How safe should I feel with this situation? Khudobin is on the wire, but he costs almost $2 million more than Darling. I do have the cap room, but is the extra salary worth it to make sure I have Andersen's (likely) backup? Or should I feel safe enough with just Andersen?

I have Andersen as well... but I am always a fan of having my goalie's backup rather than some other teams backup. I would rather have Khudobin than Darling.
I more or less feel the same, but I also feel like Darling could provide better numbers at a lower cap hit. Plus keeping him on the roster gives me the added flexibility since he's still eligible to be sent to my farm team, whereas I'm stuck with Khudobin's 2 year salary as soon as I pick him up.

Andersen is pure gold in a cap league while Khudobin is way too expensive for a backup. Just roll with what you have, if Andersen gets hurts you will actually need Gibson, as he will be called up and be in net for the majority of the games then.
Here are my thoughts on Andersen http://forums.dobbersports.com/showt...reddy-Andersen
Bottom line: he's shown to be just an average NHL starter in his short career so far. Khudobin is a very capable back-up that can steal starts. Gibson is in the mix as soon as next year (or perhaps this year if an injury/trade to Khudobin happens). He's a risky own but does have nice upside mostly for Wins because of the team he plays for. This year will be quite telling about his future.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
I have 100% faith in Andersen, and would advise keeping Darling, as both Andersen and Crawford tend to get hurt, but like you said Darling is cheaper. So you'll get likely the same value at a lower cost out of him.

Andersen should get around 60 games or so. I just drafted him and like him for this year. I drafted him over Craig Anderson so that says something. I also question his long term upside though.

Lots of mixed reviews, but there seems to be some consensus in the feeling that Andersen's future is a bit shaky. I'm not sold on that, as I believe the talent is there, and the consistency can be learned with more experience.
As someone who held onto Bernier during all his time with LA, I learned the hard way not to overvalue the much-hyped prospect (Gibson) who hasn't yet proven to be a better option than the undervalued incumbent (Andersen). I think I'll employ a wait-and-see approach and re-evaluate as needed during the season.
Thanks to all for the feedback!

Andersen is a solid goalie, not elite, but still very serviceable. He could flirt with 37+ wins if he’s a 100% starter because of his team. He’ll have low-ish GAA and an average S%. I have confidence that he’ll be a good 1st goalie on fantasy teams, or a very good 2nd goalie on teams.
As for being on Anaheim it rocks. One of the best teams in the league, and he’ll play on off nights very often. He’s one of the better keeper goalies right now because of it. He’s a sneaky fantasy goalie option. I almost picked him over Rask as my keeper, but ultimately think I can redraft Andersen.
No worries on Andersen, I’d pick up Gibson if you have an NA slot/minor system tho.

I will be drafting him as my #2 goalie and as a rule I only draft #2s that Id be comfortable with as my starter...
Agreed Khoudobin backing him is less than ideal with Gibson already there but barring injury he should still put up elite win numbers with top 15ish range in the other cats. imho
I'd hang onto Darling, I think he has a decent chance to steal Crawford's job and run with it this year
